What to expect from therapy

Individual therapy sessions at Heart Spring Health are 60 minutes long. During your initial meeting you can expect to be asked general questions to get an understanding about your background, past experiences in therapy, and what issues you are wanting to work on.  During this session your practitioner will share about the treatment modalities they use and can answer any questions you have about the therapy process.  Throughout the following sessions you will continue getting to know your therapist and engaging in therapeutic work. Progress in therapy is diverse, as everyone builds a different path towards becoming their best self. You and your therapist will walk down your treatment experience together, bringing attention to desired changes, and relief from mental distress. Treatment length and frequency varies from person to person depending on symptoms and treatment goals.

We offer the opportunity to schedule a free 15 minute consultation with one of our mental health therapists to decide if they are an appropriate fit to meet your therapeutic objectives. During this meeting you will be encouraged to share your goals, questions, and concerns regarding the therapeutic process. It is completely acceptable and normal if you are not yet aware of what you would like to work on in therapy.
