Alexandria Nguyen-Johnson, ND, MAc

I grew up in rural Southern Oregon and went on to receive my Bachelors of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Oregon. I emphasized in plant ecology, developmental biology, neurobiology, and worked in research studying genetic mutations in zebrafish. I moved to Portland and was accepted to National College of Natural Medicine where I went on to receive a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Masters in Acupuncture. While at NCNM I focused on women’s health, thyroid disorders, pediatrics, IV therapy, and chronic conditions. In addition to the required naturopathic and Chinese medicine coursework, I completed a six month externship in midwifery, pediatrics, and women’s health.

I am trained in primary care and focus on women’s health, pediatrics, chronic conditions, family planning and reproductive health. I combine a Classical Chinese medicine approach with a more gentile Japanese style acupuncture technique to address musculoskeletal and joint complaints, fertility support, cycle regulation, sleep disturbances, urinary issues, and mental and emotional complaints. My goal as a practitioner is to support and promote health and wellness in my patients. Using a holistic and individualized approach to meet my patients where they are and work with them to achieve their health goals. I utilize natural therapies, such as botanical medicines, teas, hydrotherapy, and food as medicine, in addition to acupuncture, bodywork, lifestyle, diet, and nutritional supplementation to assist her patients move in the direction of health. I strive to cultivate a safe environment where my patients can be themselves and speak freely. To me being a physician is much more then prescribing medication, I want to build a relationship with my patients and bring back the family in medicine.

I am an avid cook and have a passion for nature and the outdoors. I enjoy spending my free time in my garden, fly-fishing, hiking, camping, taking my dog Bess for a run, and being the best aunt I can be to my little nephew. I am learning the art of sourdough bread baking and hope to some day bake my own baguettes.

I look forward to working with you in reaching your full health potential!
