My clinical experience has taught me that people hold many of the answers to improved health in their own hands. As a naturopathic doctor, I spend the time to learn about unique circumstances of person’s life, identify factors that underlie or exacerbate health problems, and provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment by combining the best of conventional and alternative medicines. Additionally, I believe that health is strongly influenced by feelings of well-being and vitality, and I work with each person strategies to reduce barriers to improved health.
I recognize that improving health requires a dedicated decision to adopt and maintain lifestyle habits that promote health, and that these habits need to be tailored to your life in order for them to be sustainable. I act as a partner in helping to identify patterns and come up with creative solutions to challenges that work within your lifestyle.
My approach to treatment is additionally informed by a strong background in research and public health. After graduating from NCNM in 2007, I completed a three-year clinical research fellowship sponsored by the National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, during which time I completed a Master of Public Health degree. I currently serve as Adjunct Faculty at Helfgott Research Institute at the National College of Natural Medicine where I mentor students in the Master of Science in Integrative Medicine Research program.
In addition to treating people of all ages and conditions as a general practitioner, I offer comprehensive allergy evaluation, and allergy treatment for seasonal and perennial allergens using sublingual immunotherapy, or “allergy drops.”
I sustain my own well-being by remaining physically active running, hiking, and spending time outdoors. Some of my favorite creative outlets include photography, reading and most importantly following the lead of my two amazing daughters.
