Oriental Reproductive, Pediatric, and Orthopedic Medicine
Stephanie focuses on the treatment of women’s health, particularly fertility and pregnancy, but also enjoys treating pediatrics, pain and injuries, emotional, sleep, digestive, and skin issues, headaches, and smoking cessation.
She is Oregon’s only certified practitioner of Hunyuan herbalism. Hunyuan herbalism is well-known for its success in treating infertility, but is also powerful and effective for a wide range of conditions, due to its ability to clearly identify and powerfully treat the root of disease. Certification is obtained upon completion of a rigorous year of study with the founder of the style, Yaron Seidman, DAOM. Stephanie combines herbs with other modalities in the clinic, but she also treats patients long distance with herbs and diet, supplement and lifestyle recommendations.
Her integrative acupuncture style combines Worsley Five Element with Classical Chinese acupuncture. She often combines multiple therapies in each treatment. A treatment usually involves two or more of the following: shiatsu or tui na massage, lifestyle counseling, qigong instruction, acupuncture or meridian massage, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, mineral heat therapy, electric stimulation, Western and Oriental dietary therapy, and/or Chinese herbal medicine. She uses many forms of moxibustion for many different reasons; patients love the relaxing warmth and the wonderful results of this therapy. Patients love her tension-releasing cupping techniques, which are great for colds and flus, muscle tension, and detoxification.
Stephanie loves shonishin, a non-insertive therapy which is similar to acupuncture, but instead of needles uses small metal tools to very gently brush, tap, and press on points and channels. This therapy treats all sorts of complaints and diseases, is amazing for babies and children, and also works great as an acupuncture alternative for needle-shy adults.
Qigong is often incorporated into Stephanie’s treatment plans. She has practiced in the Jin Jing Gong lineage for over 9 years, and blends this with medical qigong and several years of tai ji and Hunyuan qigong practice. Individual exercises are often taught to support the individual between treatments, sometimes accumulating to create entire personalized forms.
Stephanie earned her Masters of Acupuncture from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), where she was trained in both Oriental medicine, with a focus on classical Chinese medicine, as well as Western medical sciences. She is National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine board-certified in Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbology. She continues her education by taking a variety of classes, many of which focus on infertility, pregnancy, and pediatrics.
Stephanie’s appreciation for the intricate relationship between the human body and nature is partially rooted in her Bachelor’s in biology with an emphasis in ecology from Viterbo University, as well as her frequent time spent in nature. Her passion for the linguistic and cultural beauty engrained in Chinese medicine stems from her love of world travel, ancient cultures, and the Spanish language.
Stephanie was born and raised in Wisconsin. She loves to hike, travel, do qigong and yoga, swim, play piano, enjoy the rich music and arts culture of Portland, and spend time with her 5-year-old daughter.

“Wellness is not only about eliminating the problem, but about getting to the root and vitalizing the true self. If you heal the symptoms, but not affect the cause, it’s quite a bit like eliminating the blaring smoke alarm by removing the batteries as opposed to putting out the fire. In Chinese medicine, the ‘cause’ always can be defined as various ways of being out of line with the cycles of nature. Vitalizing the true self means realigning with nature and thereby nurturing the flame that is your authentic, original self – that core of your being that is happy, balanced, confident, connected and strong. Along with this comes increased overall well being on all levels – physical, emotional, and spiritual.” – Stephanie
Stephanie is such an amazing healer. I always leave my sessions with her feeling so amazing. I recommend her to anyone curious about acupuncture. Her gentle and caring approach is wonderful. – Alisha
I had been seeking out the right practitioner for where I was on my healing journey and when I met Stephanie, I knew she was what I was looking for. Stephanie merges her practical knowledge with her intuitive wisdom and has been highly skilled at knowing what I need from treatment in a given week. Her compassionate nature and genuine curiosity has made me feel like she’s right there with me, doing everything she can to help me overcome my fertility challenges. She spends more time with me than any practitioner I’ve ever worked with and the time she takes just to check my pulses makes me feel like she’s really invested in me and my health. Her holistic approach has helped me think beyond treatment to the choices I’m making on a daily basis that influence my wellbeing. Her support has come in the form of books, tinctures, herbs and very heartfelt and genuine care. I’m very grateful to have found her. – Jocelyn
I first went to Stephanie because I wanted to quit smoking and nothing else had worked. I had never received acupuncture before and I was a bit skeptical. After just one session and very affordable prescription tea, I experienced no cravings at all. I was amazed at how well the acupuncture and other preventative measures she had me take worked. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with her for any treatment she performs. – Greg
Stephanie did a great job at putting me at ease, and making me comfortable right from the first session during the pre-evaluation phase. She was very thorough in examining all aspects of my life in order to decide her plan of action, in regards to health, interpersonal relationships, history, and spirituality. Her promotion and support of me living a proactive, healthy, well-rounded(wholistic) lifestyle have done wonders for me. The next time I see the early signs of acute pain arising, I will not hesitate to go right back to her for treatment. – Adam
