SUMMARY:Embodied Yoga: A Yoga Therapy-Informed Practice
DESCRIPTION:Discover Embodied Yoga\nThis is an accessible yoga class informed by the principles of yoga therapy\, offering a whole-person approach that supports the physical\, mental\, emotional\, and inner dimensions of experience. Each  session may include gentle to moderate movement\, mindful strength-building\, breathwork (pranayama)\, mindfulness and somatic practices\, and grounding techniques to support nervous system regulation and embodied awareness. \nClasses are responsive to who arrives. Some days may feel like a slow\, mindful flow; other days may offer more therapeutic pacing\, chair-based options\, or space for inquiry and integration. Depending on the group and intention\, we may also explore sound\, simple chant\, or mantra as supportive tools for presence and regulation. Practices are often informed by seasonal rhythms and Ayurvedic principles. \nFor those curious about yoga therapy\, this class offers a gentle entry point — a shared container to slow down\, tune in\, and explore with curiosity and intention. While this is a group yoga class\, it reflects the broader scope of yoga therapy by weaving movement\, breath\, philosophy\, and self-inquiry into an adaptable\, co-created practice that may be soft or strong\, quiet or dynamic\, depending on who arrives and what is needed. \nWant to know more about yoga therapy? Read about it here! \nMark Your Calendar\nDates: Every Tuesday \nTime: 10:00 – 11:15AM \nCost: $39 per session \nExtras: Mats and props provided — feel free to bring your own for comfort \nNote: This class is capped at 4 people per session\, so don’t wait to sign up! \n\nMeet Maya\nMaya Lake-Freeman is a Certified Yoga Therapist and experienced yoga teacher specializing in trauma-informed yoga therapy and accessible\, mindful movement practices. SUMMARY:Tuesday Hatha Rollin' Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday Hatha Rollin’ Yoga is a breath-led yoga practice combining foam rolling with foundational yoga poses to support fascial health\, nervous system regulation\, and sustainable movement needed for everyday life. The foam roller is used as both a release tool and a supportive prop – blending gentle rolling\, mindful movement\, and breath awareness into a hatha yoga practice. This class aims to improve mobility\, build strength\, and enhance coordination between essential body movements for everyday life tasks. This class is a great option for all levels of yogis\, and especially for those looking to progressively increase range of motion and move with greater clarity and resilience. \nWhile there are some foam rollers available for use\, it is encouraged for students to bring their own. \n______ \nEvent Details\nWhen: Every Tuesday \nTime: 12:45 – 1:45 PM \nCost: $29 \nWhat To Bring: \n\nComfortable clothes to move in\nA water bottle\nA foam roller\n\n_______ \nMeet Corrie\nCorrie has been a yoga student for over 20 years. Her sister introduced her to yoga while Corrie was recovering from a severe illness as a teenager that limited her ability to exercise. She is proud to note that she has since made a full recovery– with the support of her yoga practice! Corrie also lives with ADHD. As a result\, Corrie is a staunch advocate for trauma-informed yoga practices that are accessible to a variety of learning styles. Yoga is for every body– regardless of age\, gender\, and seen/unseen disabilities. \nCorrie received her yoga teacher certification in early 2025\, and has been teaching since throughout the Portland metro area and the Columbia River Gorge. She is currently working towards her 500-hour advanced teaching certification. She is certified to teach a variety of yoga practice styles including: hatha\, hatha and foam rolling\, vinyasa\, yin yoga\, and kids yoga. \nCorrie is also known as “Rio’s mom.” If a black dog looks like she really wants you to pet her while checking in for your class\, that is likely Rio. In Corrie’s spare time\, she loves to spend time outdoors with Rio\, play guitar\, and she is currently training for her second marathon. \nIf you’d like to learn more about Corrie’s yoga teaching philosophy\, additional community events\, workshops\, or retreats that Corrie leads throughout the year\, please visit her website at www.brown-eyedyogi.com or find her on Instagram at browneyedyogi006. \n_______ \n\n \n \n Class Registration\n Sign up below to reserve your spot!
