A common low-force technique, the drop-table approach allows your chiropractor to mobilize spinal and/or sacroiliac joints with a special table. The table has adjustable sections that can be angled up under the patient, who lies face-down on the table. When the chiropractor delivers the adjustment, the table drops back down to its original position. This allows the affected joint to move more freely with less stress or force than a standard manual technique. Some patients with low back or buttock pain prefer a more gentle chiropractic treatment over the traditional spinal manipulation techniques.
