I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and have worked in health care for thirty-five years. I became a Reiki Master in 2016 and a karuna Reiki Master in 2017. I am a trained Neurofeedback provider using the Orthmer method.
Throughout my life I have worked in healthcare because I firmly believe that everyone who needs care is best served by care that, when at its best, will change lives in extraordinary ways. l believe in my oath to uphold our ethical standards striving to uplift those in need. This model of care reflects our basic human need to connect with one another and to be supported by that interaction.
Exploring the Field
Over the last ten years I have been searching through various modalities for methods that are successful in helping people change entrenched habits or ways of being in life. Methods that can speak to our self-awareness so that we can apply this knowledge to let go of old patterns of being, while making room for the new.
What I Found
Neurofeedback is an effective brain training method that uses biofeedback. Neurofeedback allows the brain to see itself. With this self-awareness, the brain begins to make the needed adjustments to regulate its nervous system. In general, we all would benefit from Neurofeedback as it helps our brain and our entire nervous system to be the best that it can be.
But Neurofeedback goes a step further showing improvement in those conditions that can be hard to find treatment for, such as anxiety and migraines. When I witness the impact Neurofeedback has on conditions that are resistant to other treatment it strengthens my resolve to make Neurofeedback available to those who need it.
Up Until Now
My path to Heart Spring Health has been mainly through the hospital system where I learned to connect with my patients at many different stages in their life. I enjoy being a Reiki provider and teacher because the energy of Reiki supports all healing.
Excited to be Here
I am excited to be a Neurofeedback provider at Heart Spring Health. This is such a welcoming place to come to, I am proud to be part of this amazing group of healthcare providers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with those people who come through our clinic for Neurofeedback.
I enjoy the reset that nature gives me and watching movies or documentaries with my husband. I am a budding fan of the various Portland Escape Rooms too. So many puzzles to solve! I love travel, I have been to England, Ireland, Costa Rica and Peru. This year I have set my sights on Egypt, and I am looking forward to seeing if the trip comes together.
