Licensed Acupuncturist Specializing in Oriental Reproductive, Pediatric, and Orthopedic Medicine
An acupuncturist dedicated to Oriental reproductive and orthopedic medicine, I focus on treating women’s health, particularly fertility and pregnancy, as well as pain and injuries. I also enjoy treating pediatrics, headaches, smoking cessation, and emotional, sleep, digestive, and skin issues.
My healing philosophy
Wellness is not only about eliminating the problem, but about getting to the root and vitalizing your true self. If you heal the symptoms but do not affect the cause, it’s like eliminating the blaring smoke alarm by removing the batteries, as opposed to putting out the fire.
In Chinese medicine, the “cause” can always be defined as being out of line with the cycles of nature. Vitalizing the true self means realigning with nature and thereby nurturing the flame that is your authentic, original self—that core of your being that is happy, balanced, confident, connected and strong. Along with this rebalancing comes increased overall wellbeing on all levels—physical, emotional, and spiritual.
As each person is unique, I will create a specialized treatment plan based on your needs, which may include one or more healing modalities.
Healing modalities include:
- Chinese Herbal Medicine
- Cupping (tension-releasing and great for colds and flus, muscle tension, and detoxification)
- Electric stimulation
- Gua sha
- Hunyuan herbalism
- Integrative acupuncture combining Worsley Five Element with Classical Chinese acupuncture
- Lifestyle counseling
- Meridian massage
- Mineral heat therapy
- Moxibustion (many forms of relaxing warmth)
- Qigong instruction
- Shiatsu or Tui Na massage
- Shonishin therapy
- Western and Oriental dietary therapy

Natural medicine education and affiliations
I earned my Masters of Acupuncture from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), where I was trained in Oriental medicine, with a focus on classical Chinese medicine, as well as Western medical sciences. I am on the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and I am board-certified in Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbology. Currently, I am enrolled at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program, which focuses on women’s health, pain/injury, and healthy aging.
My appreciation for the intricate relationship between the human body and nature is partially rooted in my Bachelor’s in biology with an emphasis in ecology from Viterbo University, as well as my frequent time spent in nature. My passion for the linguistic and cultural beauty of Chinese medicine stems from my love of world travel, ancient cultures, and the Spanish language.
My patients say
“Stephanie is such an amazing healer. I always leave my sessions with her feeling so amazing. I recommend her to anyone curious about acupuncture. Her gentle and caring approach is wonderful.”
“I had been seeking out the right practitioner for where I was on my healing journey and when I met Stephanie, I knew she was what I was looking for. Stephanie merges her practical knowledge with her intuitive wisdom and has been highly skilled at knowing what I need from treatment in a given week. Her compassionate nature and genuine curiosity has made me feel like she’s right there with me, doing everything she can to help me overcome my fertility challenges. She spends more time with me than any practitioner I’ve ever worked with and the time she takes just to check my pulses makes me feel like she’s really invested in me and my health. Her holistic approach has helped me think beyond treatment to the choices I’m making on a daily basis that influence my wellbeing. Her support has come in the form of books, tinctures, herbs and very heartfelt and genuine care. I’m very grateful to have found her.”
“I first went to Stephanie because I wanted to quit smoking and nothing else had worked. I had never received acupuncture before and I was a bit skeptical. After just one session and very affordable prescription tea, I experienced no cravings at all. I was amazed at how well the acupuncture and other preventative measures she had me take worked. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with her.” — Greg
“Stephanie did a great job at putting me at ease, and making me comfortable right from the first session during the pre-evaluation phase. She was very thorough in examining all aspects of my life in order to decide her plan of action for my health, interpersonal relationships, history, and spirituality. Her support of me living a proactive, healthy, well-rounded (holistic) lifestyle has done wonders for me. The next time I see the early signs of acute pain arising, I will not hesitate to go right back to her for treatment.” — Adam
Outside of work
I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I love to hike, travel, do qigong and yoga, swim, play piano, enjoy the rich music and arts culture of Portland, and spend time with my daughter.
