Intro to Mat Pilates

This Intro to Pilates class is designed for those new to mat Pilates, as well as anyone looking to revisit and refine the foundational principles of the practice. You’ll be introduced to proper alignment, mindful breathing techniques, and essential movements that form the basis of a safe and effective Pilates routine. Each exercise is broken down with clear instruction, allowing you to build confidence and understanding at a comfortable pace. Options and modifications are also provided to suit a variety of bodies and experience levels.
Throughout the class, the focus is on developing core strength, stability, and mobility while enhancing posture and overall coordination. By moving with intention and control, you’ll begin to build a deeper awareness of how your body functions and how to support it in everyday movement.

Aimée is a certified STOTT Pilates mat instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching dance & movement. Born & raised in Hawaii, she grew up dancing Hula competitively before training in bellydance & Classical Odissi Dance. She spent eight years performing professionally in Japan working with wedding & corporate clients until a knee injury redirected her path. Pilates became her rehabilitation – healing her knee & allowing her to return to dance. Now, she is dedicated to sharing Pilates’ healing benefits with others. Aimée creates a warm, welcoming environment where students of all levels & abilities feel supported, offering modifications for those managing vulnerabilities & injuries. Aimée believes Pilates builds correct biomechanics, core strength, stability, & body awareness – tools that reduce injury risk & free us from pain.
