Intro to Belly Dance
Step into a joyful and expressive movement practice as you learn the foundational techniques of belly dance (raqs sharqi) in a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment. This introductory class is designed for beginners and anyone curious about exploring this beautiful dance form. This class is also taught with an emphasis on building confidence, body awareness, and fluidity.
Throughout the course, you’ll be guided through essential movements such as shoulder rolls, snake arms, chest isolations, body undulations, and hip shimmies. Each element is broken down in a clear, accessible way so you can safely and comfortably explore how your body moves. No prior dance experience is needed!
Whether you’re looking for a new way to move, a creative outlet, or a supportive community, this class offers a space to explore, learn, and enjoy the art of belly dance at your own pace.

Aimée has travelled the world as a performer & instructor, & brings over 20 years of teaching experience to her classes. Born and raised in Hawaii, she grew up dancing Hula competitively before discovering her passion for belly dance. Classically trained in Odissi Dance, she spent time in Bhubaneswar, India, immersing herself in this ancient tradition through training & performance. She then spent 8 years performing professionally in Japan working with wedding & corporate clients. Now, as a certified STOTT Pilates instructor, she brings together her knowledge of biomechanics & anatomy, along with her diverse dance background, to every class.
