Helping You Remove Obstacles to Healing
I help patients achieve a healthy mind and body by supporting natural healing systems. Using a variety of therapies from both alternative and conventional medicine, we work together on your journey to support both the mental and physical well being. Treating you as a whole person means we will address everything from physical symptoms and diagnosed conditions, to mindset and limiting beliefs. I believe in the body’s innate ability to heal, and my role is to help you identify and remove the obstacles.
Breaking Down the Barriers in Mental Health
I approach mental health from a full body perspective. The body has a significant effect on the mind, and vice versa. Mental health symptoms can be like a check engine light. We can consider conditions like trauma, inflammation, infections, nutrient deficiencies, genetics, and more. There is a reason and underlying cause. I utilize various tests so we can take the guesswork out of treatment which typically includes diet, targeted nutrient supplementation, improving gut health, and medication as needed. I support you using the most current research on mental health treatment, and I embrace the emerging wave of psychedelic therapies in this setting. With a “first do no harm” approach, our goal is to get you feeling better now, while we work on what caused you to get here.
Smoothing Transitions for Women Throughout the Years
Women’s medicine is a passion of mine. I am the mother of young girls, and it’s important to me that girls and women know the difference between what is “common” and what is “normal” when it comes to their menstrual cycle. I approach hormone balancing by honoring the natural ebbs and flows that come with hormone fluctuations throughout the month, and over the years. This means creating a fluid and dynamic treatment plan that changes as you do.
Using herbs, foods, and specific nutrients, we can balance hormones and correct common symptoms like bloating, mood swings, and cramping. With balanced hormones can come an opportunity for pregnancy. I use my Naturopathic Doula knowledge to support women throughout their pregnancy and to prepare for birth and beyond (I am currently not attending births). I’ve been open about my own postpartum struggles with depression and OCD hoping to bring awareness and hope to all birthing people. I am a huge advocate for postpartum support and help new parents step into their power while navigating a new world.
Gut Health for Whole Health
The health of the digestive tract is the basis for all health in your body. This is where your digestion and nutrient absorption takes place and is a backbone of the immune system. You may have lived with digestive symptoms like gas and constipation for so long that you forget what is “normal”. The effects of poor digestion and dysbiosis may be showing up in other ways like joint pain or depression. Treating the gut is an integral part of every treatment plan regardless of the main concern. I can help you resolve common symptoms like constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating and GERD. Some of the conditions I have treated include IBD, IBS, SIBO and candida.
