The Foundations of Health for Inner Peace and Well-Being
The foundations of health—food, movement, sleep, lifestyle—are the key to well-being on so many levels: physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual. They are all interconnected. While I may offer treatments such as nutraceuticals, botanicals, nutrition counseling, craniosacral therapy, homeopathy (or pharmaceuticals when needed) and other modalities for specific issues and symptoms—I will always be taking into consideration you as a person with individual needs, sensitivity/nature, constitution, and personality, thus treating the whole person—not just symptoms.
Connecting Food as Medicine to Nourish Your Soul
While I treat on many levels, I often will focus on food and nutrition, as what we consume each day can be foundational in terms of how we feel on a daily basis. What we eat impacts our mood, energy, sleep, ability to focus/mental clarity, stamina, stress levels, motivation, and blood sugar balance. I do not believe in a “one best way to eat,” but rather, finding the right way of eating for each individual. Each person has a unique constitution, metabolism, and disposition, and as such, have their own unique dietary needs and optimal ways to be nourished and find balance. I like to emphasize that eating healthy needn’t be an exercise in restraint and deprivation—but rather one of enjoyment and balance. I encourage deep enjoyment of food and developing a loving and healthy relationship with it. I love to cook, bake, and as such I love to share recipes, and help people to find the best strategies to feed themselves well, consistently, regularly, and efficiently so they can get busy living and enjoying life.
Compassion is Key – Connecting Your Nervous System to Sleep, Mental and Emotional Health
I am a sensitive, compassionate, and gentle naturopath, and I am here to support you. I am passionate about supporting patients in their mental and emotional health, and overall well-being. In particular, I believe that the nervous system is everything when it comes to how we feel and interact with ourselves, our lives, and the outside world, so I will often focus on the nervous system to help people regulate their mood, emotions, energy and sleep. Some of the ways that we can work on these levels include counseling, nutraceuticals, botanicals, food, sleep hygiene, movement, shiatsu, craniosacral, breathwork, personal coaching, lifestyle recommendations, and pharmaceuticals when necessary.

Education and Background
I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in the state of Oregon and received my degree and training from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM). I grew up in Massachusetts, and spent my undergraduate years at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. I spent close to twenty years living in Boulder, Colorado before moving to Portland in 2019 to start my schooling at NUNM. I earned my Master’s in Education at the University of Colorado, Denver in 2015.
Prior to my journey to becoming a Naturopath, I spent many years in a wide variety of professions: social work, non-profit work, teaching (elementary school and womens/prenatal yoga), massage therapy, writer, and musician/singer. It has been a rich journey!
Outside of Work
I have many passions, and love being in motion—as well as resting deeply between activities. Outside of work, you can find me hiking, cycling, swimming, practicing yoga and meditation, baking, cooking, writing, reading, singing, playing piano, guitar, samba percussion, and dancing. I love travel, animals, sleep, and the ocean.
