Deeply Listening

Deeply listening means more than hearing — it means bringing my full presence to every class, session, and person I work with so that I can hear beyond the words.

Kate JuddKate Judd is a NASM-certified personal trainer, certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), and integrative health and wellness coach. Her work lives at the intersection of movement, breath, nervous system health, and  sustainable lifestyle change. At Heart Spring Health, Kate leads group classes in yoga therapy and  functional fitness — bringing her whole-person, trauma-informed approach to everything she offers.

My Approach

I see my role as helping to create the conditions for you to listen deeply. Our bodies hold so much  wisdom — and one of the greatest gifts we can offer ourselves is the permission to pause and check in.  Where am I at? What do I need? This practice of slowing down, tuning in, and stepping toward more  empowered choices is at the foundation of one of the most important relationships you can have — the  one with yourself. My joy is in helping you begin to feel and connect to yourself in new ways.

My lens has roots in yogic philosophy and the Ayurvedic wisdom of the five elements — a framework I  use to understand where a client may be out of balance and how to support them in moving toward  greater harmony. Alongside this I bring a fitness and movement lens, informed by my work as a personal  trainer, that helps me meet clients wherever they are physically — whether they are rebuilding strength,  improving mobility, or simply learning to move with more ease and confidence. At the core of both  approaches is the nervous system. I have found that sustainable health change becomes far more  achievable when the body feels safe enough to support it — whether we are working on movement,  habits, stress, or simply finding your way back to yourself.

A Personal Journey That Deepened My Practice

In 2025 I experienced a traumatic brain injury that left me without my senses of smell and taste and  with single-sided deafness. My healing has taken me more deeply into the language of my own body and  nervous system than I had ever been before. This offered me an intimate understanding of what it  means to work from a smaller capacity — to need a practice or a space that holds you, nourishes you,  and supports a natural unfolding rather than demanding more than you have.

I came out of this experience a more present, more attuned practitioner. I carry it with me into every  class and session — especially with clients who are navigating chronic conditions, injury recovery,  fatigue, or any season of life that calls for gentleness. Helping people feel nourished and whole is at the  heart of everything I do.

What to Expect When Working With Me

Each class and interaction is collaborative and tailored to those I am working with. We go at your pace  — nothing is forced or rushed — creating a natural unfolding. I bring warmth, curiosity, and deep  listening, and I am passionate about creating a space where people feel welcome and held.

My group classes are designed so that anyone can join, regardless of experience or fitness level. I don’t  believe in perfect. But I do believe that consistent, compassionate effort toward one’s goals over time  can create some truly remarkable results. I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes!

A Little More About Me

I grew up in Chicago and made my way to Portland by way of Los Angeles in 2023 — arriving in search of  a fresh start. I often tell people that it feels as if the trees called me here. When I’m not working, you’ll  find me out in nature on a trail or paddleboard, exploring town by bike, or walking around a neighborhood and taking in all the cute houses and plants. I’m also a devoted cat cuddler, and someone  who genuinely loves live music, art, and anything new and playful that life puts in front of me.
