Trauma-Informed and Accessible Yoga

Corrie ParrishCorrie has been a yoga student for over 20 years. Her sister introduced her to yoga while Corrie was recovering from a severe illness as a teenager that limited her ability to exercise. She is proud to note that she has since made a full recovery– with the support of her yoga practice! Corrie also lives with ADHD. As a result, Corrie is a staunch advocate for trauma-informed yoga practices that are accessible to a variety of learning styles. Yoga is for every body– regardless of age, gender, and seen/unseen disabilities.

Corrie received her yoga teacher certification in early 2025, and has been teaching since throughout the Portland metro area and the Columbia River Gorge. She is currently working towards her 500-hour advanced teaching certification. She is certified to teach a variety of yoga practice styles including: hatha, hatha and foam rolling, vinyasa, yin yoga, and kids yoga.

Outside of Work

Corrie is also known as “Rio’s mom.” If a black dog looks like she really wants you to pet her while checking in for your class, that is likely Rio. In Corrie’s spare time, she loves to spend time outdoors with Rio, play guitar, and she is currently training for her second marathon.

If you’d like to learn more about Corrie’s yoga teaching philosophy, additional community events, workshops, or retreats that Corrie leads throughout the year, please visit her website at www.brown-eyedyogi.com or find her on Instagram at browneyedyogi006.
