Let’s look at the full picture of your mental health
Hi, I’m Katharine Frissora, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a passion for holistic, integrative care. My approach blends conventional psychiatry with evidence-based natural therapies—because true wellness isn’t just about managing symptoms. It’s about understanding your unique story, identifying root causes, and working together to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
I help people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, mood disorders, eating disorders, relationship challenges, life transitions, and more. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready to move beyond surface-level care, I’m here to partner with you. We’ll take the time to uncover what’s going on beneath the surface and create a plan that supports real, lasting change.
Restore balance through a whole-person lens
- Personalized Integrative Psychiatry
Maybe you’ve tried medication before, or maybe you’re curious about other ways to support your mental health. I offer a thoughtful, personalized approach that includes both traditional psychiatric care and holistic strategies like supplements, nutrition, and nervous system regulation. We’ll consider the whole picture—not just symptoms, but what’s happening in your body, your environment, and your daily life. - Support Through Life Transitions
Big changes—whether planned or unexpected—can stir up anxiety, sadness, and confusion. I specialize in helping people move through life transitions with more clarity, self-compassion, and stability. Together, we’ll explore what’s coming up for you and create practical tools to stay grounded and resilient. - Creative and Mind-Body Approaches
With a background in art therapy and certification as a yoga teacher, I value movement, creativity, and self-awareness as powerful tools for healing. I often weave mindfulness, somatic practices, and breathwork into our work together—especially when it comes to supporting the nervous system, reconnecting with the body, and finding emotional balance beyond words.

Credentials and Clinical Background
I’m a doctorally prepared psychiatric nurse practitioner with over a decade of experience in mental health. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Arizona State University and hold undergraduate degrees in both Nursing and Art Therapy from Capital University. I’m also a certified yoga teacher and avid yogi, which deeply informs my mind-body approach to care.
My career includes developing and leading a psychiatric nurse practitioner fellowship at a community health center in New York City, an experience I co-authored in Psychiatric Services (2021). I’ve served as faculty in a medical school and completed an Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship with Psychiatry Redefined in 2024.
My clinical work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported
