Wellness is Holistic

Babs Szabo, CPT

My name is Babs, and I’m a Personal Trainer and Health Coach passionate about helping others build sustainable, healthy habits that support both physical and mental well-being. My approach to wellness is holistic, rooted in the belief that true health comes from caring for the mind, body, and lifestyle as a whole.

As a strength coach, I prioritize proper form, foundational movement patterns, mind-muscle connection, and effective breathing techniques. From there, I guide clients through progressive overload at a safe and sustainable pace to support long-term results. I also incorporate functional training into both one-on-one sessions and group classes, helping clients develop stability, mobility, and balance—essential skills for everyday life. My goal is for every workout plan to reflect real-world movement patterns, so clients feel strong, confident, and supported in their day-to-day lives.

I genuinely enjoy working with people from all walks of life, meeting each client where they are in their wellness journey and helping them move forward in a way that feels supportive and sustainable. I strive to make every workout both enjoyable and challenging. I’m especially passionate about supporting women through every phase of life by honoring the body’s natural rhythms. From understanding how the menstrual cycle impacts energy and performance to helping women stay strong through perimenopause and beyond, my goal is to help you feel powerful, informed, and in control of your health.

Services I Offer

My Own Healing Experience and Education

I spent a decade working in the music industry in Los Angeles, where I had the incredible opportunity to build a company and travel across the U.S. producing events in the emo and pop-punk scene. It was a dream in so many ways—I experienced things I never could have imagined, and for a long time, it was amazing. Until it wasn’t.

The constant travel, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, and chronic stress eventually caught up with me. My body started to break down—I was dealing with migraines, back spasms, panic attacks, depressive episodes, fatigue, digestive issues… the list kept growing. By the time 2020 hit, I knew something had to change.

Around then, I began working with an acupuncturist who truly changed my life. She introduced me to the power of small, consistent habit changes—and how they can create profound shifts over time. I started practicing yoga more regularly, spending more time in nature, and slowly, I began to heal.

I also took an online course through Yale called The Science of Wellbeing, which completely reshaped my understanding of happiness. It helped me realize that I had been living out of alignment with my core values.

Aligning My Values

When the world reopened in 2021, I made a bold decision: I walked away from my career in music without a clear plan for what was next. Not long after, I discovered a fitness training program in West Hollywood called Show Up Fitness. It was an immersive, multi-month experience covering exercise programming, anatomy, nutrition, and mindset. I fell in love with the process almost immediately. I went on to get certified through their program, and later through NASM as well.

Since then, I’ve continued to grow, learn, and evolve as a fitness professional—and I’ve never felt more aligned with the life I’m building. Throughout the years I have obtained certifications in Evidence Based Programming for Menopause, Strategic Strength, The Evolution of Breathwork, The Science of Wellbeing, as well as Exercise, Stress, Hormone and Inflammation.

Outside of Work

When I am not working, I enjoy reading, painting, cooking nourishing meals, spending time in nature, meditating, yoga, learning French, and exploring practices that support mindfulness and personal growth.

What My Clients Say

“After bouncing around with a few different trainers, I’ve found Babs, and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve been working with Babs since January, and she is an absolute delight. She’s got such a non-judgmental, positive attitude, and she’s all about meeting you where you’re at, while also giving you a push to do a little more. She’s taught me to focus on my breathing, which has helped the workout be more beneficial, and I’m really starting to see the results I was hoping for when signing up.” – Amy

“Babs is SO great. She is patient, thoughtful in her approach, a great teacher, and FUNNY. As someone who has never enjoyed exercising, Babs makes it bearable enough for me to come back twice a week (which says A LOT) and take care of my body! Working with her has been such a game changer for me and I am seeing progress for the first time in my life. Babs is the best!!!” – Alice

“Babs helped me to become more confident in doing exercises with weights and learning the proper forms for a variation of exercises with and without weights. She’s worked with me on my nutrition and has motivated me to stay on track with my goals. She’s been very patient while I learn to become more aware of my commitment with myself and my health goals. Babs has walked me through how to use machines I didn’t see myself using, but now feel confident I can do it and I am still learning. She’s definitely someone who’s very knowledgeable and believe me SHE’S A BEAST when it comes to workout sessions with her. 30 or 60 min sessions will leave you feeling great you were able to do it.” – Licenia

“As a former fitness instructor and trainer, I know a good trainer and instructor when I see one. Babs is one of the best I’ve seen. Her classes are well thought out, fun, effective, and uplifting! She explains and demonstrates each exercise clearly, making sure everyone knows what to do and how to do it. Babs also pays attention to her students, making needed corrections to their form and encouraging them in their efforts. She pushes and challenges but always just the right amount. Her 1 on 1 training sessions are just as great as her classes. You always leave feeling great, like you worked hard, but it was just right for you. In a city full of fitness instructors and trainers, there are few that stand out like Babs does! She’s the best of the best!” – Diane
