Facilitating Spaciousness in Every Web of Fascia

LMT #15656

Laura Hill

Laura is a fascia specialist, LMT (OR#15656) and Tensegrity Medicine practitioner who’s been treating clients for nearly 20 years. In 2008 she began her bodywork career in chiropractic clinics and private practice as an Intuitive Deep Tissue Massage Therapist. Always curious to understand the root of pain and dis-ease in her own and her clients’ systems, she early surrendered to a paradigm-shifting journey into the world of fascia. About a decade into her career, she stumbled upon Bowenwork, and then Tensegrity Medicine (TM). Through her more than 6-year exploration of Tensegrity Medicine, a vast and infinite interconnected energetic galaxy has emerged—one that is both revelatory and deeply familiar. The perspective has brought her deep peace, physical, and existential relief. Sharing this work is her creative joy and her calling.

Laura’s background is in professional theatre. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She’s experienced in Facilitated Communication and has worked 1:1 with persons on the Autism Spectrum since 1997. Laura is a passionate lover of art and creativity in all forms, loves cooking, play, working with kids and has a deep connection to animals and the natural world. She currently utilizes Bowenwork, yin yoga, and Internal Family Systems-based somatic dialoguing in her Tensegrity Medicine sessions, and believes that all healing comes from a felt sense of relational safety. The relationship is the healing. She’s committed to surrendering to the ever-evolving flow of the universe and investing in her own personal growth to share the clearest and most vibrant version of her unique spark.

What is Tensegrity Medicine?

Tensegrity Medicine™ is a unique, cutting-edge therapeutic method (founded by Kelly Clancy, OTR/L, CHT, BCSI, LMT) based on systems thinking and complexity theory. This integrated whole-system approach maps the individual constellations of:

  • Fascia
  • Light touch therapies
  • Biotensegrity
  • Relational anatomy
  • Structural integration
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Trauma
  • External environments (familial, societal, cultural, systemic)
  • Internal environments (thoughts, emotions, values, belief systems)
  • Intra/inter-personal relational dynamics,

Tensegrity Medicine™ recognizes that the collaborative influence of all these aspects plays a vital role in the symptoms we express and the complexity of our lived experience. Isolation is a myth and all symptoms are interconnected. One cannot treat the physical body without impacting belief and emotions, for example. TM adopts a non-pathologizing and non-judgmental lens that highlights the wisdom of adaptations and compensation patterns in our systems, aiming to reconnect a client with their authenticity, felt-sense structural support, and trust in their own capacity to navigate their experience. Treatment focuses not on tackling individual symptoms, but rather on creating spaciousness for system-wide coherence and harmony. Symptom resolution is a naturally occurring outcome of addressing root causes.

Who Can This Treatment Help?

Anyone! (Seriously.) But especially….

  • Those who feel unmet by traditional approaches
  • Those who are seeking long term resolutions
  • Those feeling “stuck” in  persistent repetitive tensional patterns
  • Those seeking support with all stages of childbearing from preconception to postpartum
  • Those who have ever been told “there’s nothing more that can be done” or “the best you can hope for is symptom management”
  • Anyone suffering with auto-immune, neurological, or nervous system conditions
  • Those seeking a trauma-informed body based approach as a pairing for talk therapy
  • Those seeking support with and compassionate reframing of addictive patterns
  • Those seeking support around experiences of CPTSD and attachment trauma
  • Anyone seeking support with nervous system regulation
  • Neurodivergent populations seeking compassionate connection and support, including kids and adults on the Autism Spectrum
  • Laura specializes in working with kids and creatives. She loves side-by-side sessions with parents and kids.

What to Expect in Treatment

Every Tensegrity Medicine session involves assessment, hands-on treatment, and time for integration and reflection. The session itself is the initiation of an unwinding process that will gradually unfold in-between appointments. It’s recommended to receive sessions every 7-10 days initially.

  • This approach is cumulative and structural. Subtle shifts initiate profound global reorganization of the bodymind, therefore targeted interventions are precise and minimal.
  • The hands-on techniques Laura most often utilizes in her Tensegrity Medicine sessions (Bowenwork® and Craniosacral) are gentle to receive and minimally invasive. No pushing or forcing toward outcomes. Slow and gradual shifts prioritizing safety.
  • Laura may use mind-body parts work: a dialoguing technique based on the Internal Family Systems model to help explore patterns around past experiences, relational dynamics, emotions and beliefs.
  • Pacing is client-lead. Your body cues guide the work.
  • Trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship is vital. Direct feedback around anything that doesn’t feel right is always welcome and encouraged.
  • Every nervous system is unique and responds differently. A big part of the therapeutic process is curiously exploring together, whatever comes up.

Outside of Work

Admittedly, Laura spends a lot of her free time nerding out with her Tensegrity Medicine family who are dotted about the Pacific Northwest, the country, and the globe, connecting via online portals to gab about life, feminism, and patriarchy on the reg. She loves deep-diving into character analysis, applying systems thinking to every show or movie she sees, and appreciating life’s little joys, such as boba tea and a walk with a good friend, barefoot shoes, listening to audiobooks, singing karaoke in her kitchen, finding the perfect music for the energetic moment, playing ukulele, running, riding her bike, yoga, cooking, the single life, and spending time with her cat, Loba. ♡
