Your Body is Your Home
My philosophy for our sessions is to help reset your nervous system and your body into a state of harmony and into an optimal emotional zone, where you can best function and thrive in a world where we are constantly faced with stressors. When we are within our window of tolerance and feeling at home in our body, our tissue is hydrated, our breath is long, our internal systems are happy and our relationships flourish; this is the state where healing and renewal can happen. As we work together over time, we can tend to your nervous system, release muscle restrictions, and encourage lymph and blood flow to areas of energetic and/or muscular adhesions. The result is a consistent emphasis of “body as home”, and this can substantially increase your personal connection to your body, and expand your awareness around places of holding, guarding, and thriving.
Self Awareness Body Work
When I work with clients, I work from a place of collaboration and curiosity, and trace to the places of muscle guarding so that we can find the root of your discomfort. We would address this discomfort through the lens of neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy, trigger point, deep tissue, joint mobility, and myofascial release, depending on the needs of that particular pain point and the overall current capacity of your nervous system. To facilitate your healing process and help strengthen your self-awareness, I give cues to tune into your breath, which helps create more space for unwinding and allows you to be present with your experience within your body, less in your mind.
